To ensure that every hunter is pleased both rifle shooters, bowhunters, budget and expensive we included a variety of lights specific for each situation.

The Best Hog Feeder Lights Reviewed and Rated
1. Wildgame Innovations Light – Best Overall
- Made in China
- Product Type :WILDLIFE FEEDER
- Package Dimension :8.3 cm x 14.1 cm x 28.8 cm
The Wildgame Innovations light is our favorite on this list. Featured with 16 green LEDs and a PIR sensor you get a quality light at a good price.
Still if its the lowest priced hog feeder on this list we found the Wilgame light to perform the best. The solar panel makes it possible to keep the light outside the entire hunting season without having to worry about the battery levels.
Our favorite feature with the Wildgame light is that it’s waterproof. This is the only light we found to be completely waterproof on the market, some states they are, but they really aren’t.
The only downside we found with this hog light is that it’s not as bright and sharp as other lights on this list.
Overall it’s a great light sold at a low price, if you are looking for a solid hog light this would be our top recommendation. Still, if the light is weaker the excellent sensor, budget-friendly price and waterproof designs make up for it.
Pros
- Waterproof and durable
- 16 LEDs
- RIP Sensor
- Budget-friendly
- Easy to install
Cons
- Light could be brighter
2. Moultrie Feeder Hog Light – Best seller
- Has 35 high-powered LEDs with adjustable brightness...
- Has 4-way switch with on, off, dusk and motion modes;...
- Attaches to most Moultrie feeders (Directional, econo plus,...
The Moultrie provides more power and brighter light compared to the Wilgame light, but it’s not as durable.
With the Moultrie, you get an adjustable brightness knob allowing you to turn the light range up to 35 feet. In addition to this, you have the option to manually activate the light if not it can be activated by motion or photocell.
The Moultrie is not powered by solar panel, but 4 C batteries and it comes with an external power cord that is attached to most electrical feeders.
As I mentioned briefly the durability is not up to par with our standards, however, we found the light to work great if you attach it directly underneath the feeder. This way the light will be protected by the rain resulting in a long-lasting light.
We found the additional features on the Moultrie to make up for its lack of durability. It was hard deciding between the Wildlife or Moultrie to take the top spot, which one you should choose depends on your preference: More light or better durability.
Pros
- 35 feet of light
- Motion, photocell and manual activation
- Long-lasting batteries and external power cord
- Easy to install
Cons
- Lacking in durability
3. Kill Extreme – Premium Pick (Best light and features, A+)
- Green LEDs illuminates the ground under your feeder
- Motion Sensor turns light on automatically when movement is...
- Powered by 4 "C" Batteries (not included)
The Kill extreme is impressive light packed with handy features and huge light output. It claims to provide 4x the light output compared to its previous model.
With its new features it can light up a 30-40 feet area in diameter and the PIR sensor provides a 360-degree detection that ensures that the light will turn on if an animal comes insight.
An innovative feature kill extreme has implemented is their non-scare feature that makes the lights turn on gradually from soft to full power. This ensures that the hogs won’t run or get scared by a sudden flash of bright light.
In terms of activation, the Extreme light provides you with two modes: motion and timer.
The motion mode activates the light when there is any movement around the light and the timer mode allows you to set an activation time and ending time ranging from 1-12 hours.
We liked the anti-spook feature and found the light to be one of the best we have seen. However, it is a pricy light. If you have a large budget then this is the light for you, if not we would recommend the Moultrie or Wilgame light.
Pros
- 360 Degree motion sensor
- Lights up to 40 yards
- Non-scare feature
- Motion and timer mode¨
Cons
- Expensive
4. Elusive Wildlife Feeder Light
The Wildlife is another kill light model. It provides sufficient light with 24 LEDs installed and featured with a non-scare activation that makes the lights turn on softly after activation.
It’s powered by C batteries that can last for several days because of its built-in photocell. If the batteries were to die the auxiliary cable works as a back.
Elusive Wildlife is an avarage light in terms of brightness, price and activation systems, but the reason we liked it so much was its excess of attachment options. You can attach this light under, over or permanently depending on your choice.
Same as many other lights it’s not 100% waterproof making it essential to either attach it under the feeder or make some custom waterproof design yourself on top of it. If you dont need several attachment options we recommend Kill extreme since it provides both letter light and durability.
Pros
- 24 LEDs
- Variety of attachment methods
- Long-lasting batteries
- Easy to install
Cons
- Not waterproof
5. Blind Side Feeder Light
The Blindside is different than others on this list. It’s similar to a trail camera in terms of design and durability resulting in a great feeder light.
Both the light and sensor on the Blind Side works great. The light can illuminate up towards 30 yards and we found the sensor to activate each and every time there was a hog close by.
So why isn’t this light on the top spot? It’s truly a perfect light in many ways, but there is one big downside. We found the light to turn off to quickly, it gives you a room of 20 seconds to fire of a shot which was on the shorter side of what we have seen. It gives you the option to have the lights turned on continuously, but this will drain the batteries quickly.
otherwise, it’s a great hog light that is priced well and gives you a nice balance between light output and durability. If you can pull off the trigger before 20 seconds have passed or you decide to have the lights turned on continuously then there is no reason not to like the Blindside.
Pros
- Reliable sensor
- Powerfull and bright lights
- Durable
Cons
- Light shuts off quickly
Things to look for when looking for the Best Hog Feeder Lights
As we mentioned earlier the lights on this list are just a few top picks from the entire market of lights. If you none of these were of you like then check out this guide because we will show you what you should look for when finding light on your own.
Range and brightness
One of the most important aspects of a hog feeder light is that it provides sufficient light for you to clearly see where to shoot still if the hog is standing a few feet from the feeder. But the lights cant be too sharp either since this will scare the hogs away.
Most lights provide 30 feet up of light, but some can even provide 50-60 feet of light which is plenty for most hunters.
In the past few years, there has been a popular feature called non-scare light. This is one of our favorite upgrades that has been implemented in the industry. This feature prevents the light from turning on at full throttle, instead, it starts out soft and gradually turns the brightness up.
Power source
You dont want to be in the position where you have to change the batteries every other day. The power source is an important factor to consider when choosing a hog feeder light, choose this wrong and you will have an annoying task of filling batteries all day long during the hunting season.
There is a variety of power sources beeing used on the hog lights today ranging from solar panels to C batteries.
We have no preferred power source since we have found most types to work perfectly and they all have their own positive and negative sides. Although we like having ways of powering the lights such as batteries + a power cable.
All the hog lights on this list last for an entire hunting season keeping in mind that you dont use the constant light mode. Use the motion activation with a 30 to 60-second time frame, you should have sufficient light for a long time.
Durability and waterproofness
If you are going to use these light for its purpose you are naturally forced to put them outside. Eventually, there will come a storm or at least rain making it a necessity to have a waterproof light or at least a well-installed one.
Luckily hog feeder lights are cheap, but when you make an investment its always nice that it lasts you for a long time which is why durability is one of the most important factors to keep in mind when purchasing a hog feeder light.
How to install the hog light
Not all lights are waterproof which is why we recommend you either install a roof or attach the light under the hog feeder. If you dont want to do any of these then the wildlife hog light is our recommendation.
While you attach the hog light make sure to cover your scent, we recommended you to purchase a scent killer to use after installation since this will prevent any hog from running away because of your human scent.
Use plastic gloves and use common scent control sense when installing the lights the same as you would when going for a deer hunt.
Last words
Throughout this article, you should have learned to pick a hog light yourself and read about our top picks. Picking a hog light can be difficult since there is not a wide selection of lights on the market, however, there are a few which work great and does the job.
Our top pick is killing extremely. We found this to be the hog light providing the best features and lights for the money. It is pricier than most models on this list, but you get what you pay.
If you have a tight budget the Wildgame Innovation is a great choice providing you with a nice balance of quality and price. In addition to this its the model that is waterproof.
